Of course, "normal" doesn't mean the absence of disagreement. We have always welcomed differing viewpoints here. Respectful dialogue among people with different points of view is refreshing. Unity is a spiritual thing—not a state of doctrinal uniformity.

I do appreciate the spirit of your recent posts, Aaron. Thanks for staying with us.
Thanks, Steve,
And though it is true that I strongly disagree with your eschatology. I do agree with more points you make than I disagree with. I probably didn't do so before so I would like to apologize for my comments directed toward you in earlier posts.

Your brother,
Aaron

Or I should say, "Good-bye, Crusader." You are off the forum.
Thank you Steve. Crusader would have been banned from other forums before this point. You gave him more chances than most forums would have.

I've never been on other forums—and certainly don't know how they are supposed to be moderated. I just keep thinking that if you keep reasoning with a person, he will become reasonable. Silly me!

Since I banned him from the forum, he finally wrote to me at my personal email. He was unchanged and unchastened. Here is what he wrote (I won't be posting any future emails he may send):

"Hi Steve
Well I wanted you to know who I was.....I have known you for a long time...my name is [gave his real name]....Yep I knew you back in the day....I am actually Crusader to you. Your action on the board has only solidified to me that you are really a coward,if I may be so blunt. You also are unfair and unjust and favor those who believe as you do. I actually at one time looked up to you but Im glad that as someone unrevealed to you for a time, I got to know you as you really are. I also consider you on the border line of being a false teacher and I know why you threw me off...its because you actually couldnt answer my questions when pressed hard and were embarrased in front of your followers..You especially got testy during the debate over the soviergnty of God vs the free will of man. The last issue over Daniel must have been the icing on the cake...but remember this my friend unless you completely delete who I am there the things I planted there will only grow I made an heavy mark on your preterist camp....and for that I thank the Lord.."

I wrote back:

"I'm afraid you flatter yourself. My banning you from the forum was the kindest thing I could do to those who believe as you do, because if I believed as you do, I would have been embarrassed to have your posts representing my position. Not only did I not find anything in your posts to be unanswerable, but I and others answered everything you raised repeatedly. You simply never acknowledged it. You think you were making points for your position. In my judgment, you gave occasion for those who agree with your position to be ashamed. There remain futurists and premillennialists on the forum, who are welcome to remain and make their points. They have something you lacked—etiquette."

To get back to the topic that I was trying to understand when I found this forum and thread, what about "the gap"? As someone who is new to the study of the preterist interpretation, how does one explain the delay between the 69th week and AD 70? Someone care to walk a newbie through that?

BTW, I appreciate Steve allowing us non-preterists to come and ask questions and dialogue with gentleness and respect. My hat is off to you.
D.

Steve,

You have far exceeded this guideline in graciousness and patience toward our friend in my opinion.

You did the right thing.

I agree with how Crusader was handled. I just want to inform everyone that Crusader #1 is only the tip of the iceberg and we may see this all over again because there are dozens and hundreds like him on the net. Just a word of warning to be alert.

DJ,

I noticed your question kind of got lost in the whole Crusader fiasco. Don’t want to ignore any genuine questions.

What delay are you referring to? I think most non-dispensationalist types do not see a delay between the 69th and 70th week at all. Perhaps you can clarify.
