The question has been asked as to whether or not the story of the rich man and Lazarus was a parable. Here is a scripture that I ran across today that may provide the answer.

Matt 13:34
All these things spake Jesus unto the multitude in parables; and without a parable spake he not unto them:

True but even though it's most likely a parable it could be a parable about hell except for the fact the weight of scripture teaches that people sleep in hades IMHO. Is the fact the rich man is rich make him sinful? Or is the fact Lazarus is poor and a beggar with sores make him righteous? The description of the rich man is just how the Pharisee chief priest dressed . In Exo 28 the instructions were given to Aaron for making the high priest's garments, "blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen." Annas ruled as high priest until 35AD and even after the Romans deposed him he still ran things , that's why Jesus was brought to him first. Annas had five sons therefore Caiaphas had five brothers. "Abraham's bosom" is not a biblical teaching but was a Rabbinical teaching of a waiting station on a journey ending up in heaven and the Pharisees looked at themselves as righteous and on their way to Abraham's bosom.
I believe Jesus was exposing their false teaching and hypocrisy and Rabbinical traditions that God favored them because of their status and their belief Father Abraham could help them and that Lazarus was unacceptable to God.

Acts 10:15
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Acts 10:28
And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.

Regarding Cornelius, Peter was told in a vision that the Gentiles had been cleansed by God. Could this be referring to "cleansed from sin?" If not, then in what way had the Gentiles been cleansed?

I appreciate your openess on the subject...

To me "unclean" refers to an Old Levitical law that said that certain things were unclean. When God told Peter that the pork was now clean, was He cleansing the pork from sin?

I think He just meant that you can now interact with the Gentiles. Just like you can interact with pork.

Agape,

loaves

"And when he had taken the five loaves and the two fishes, he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and brake the loaves...And they did all eat, and were filled" (Mark 6:41-42)
