Does pride cause all contention like the KJV says? :? The KJV of Proverbs 13:10 says “Only by pride cometh contention” This is different from every other english version of the Bible I can find. Even the NKJV which says “By pride comes nothing but strife” Its plain to see that the KJV says that contention can only come from pride. All other English versions of the Bible say that pride brings only contention. I hope you are following me. Which is it? Does pride only bring contention which means other things can bring contention OR does contention ONLY come from pride? Hope you can help answer my question. :?: Thanks Sam McNear :)

Rotherham's translation has the same thought:


Proverbs 13:10 Only by pride, doth one cause contention, but, with the well–advised, is wisdom.
