When you read the commission in the Greek, does it read as it does in the English? That is, I see a command to make disciples, and I see how they are to be made: baptizing them and teaching them to obey. If this is correct, then the greater failure is on those doing the converting rather than the converts, when baptism is neglected as part of becoming or making disciples.

It is my understanding that the earliest Christians never regarded unbaptized persons as Christians. It seems that Muslims and Jews recognize the meaning of baptism more than many evangelicals do.
