Original sin

Post by _PAULESPINO » Sun Jan 27, 2008 2:22 pm

The catholics teaches that we were born with original sin but I don't believe that. I believe that we were created according to the image of God and therefore sinless from the time we were conceived.
The bible talks about sinful human nature. What this means is that as human we are susceptible to sin but this does not mean that we were created with original.

So cast your ballots now!!!!!!!!!

I want to prove that human being were born sinless.

From this I want to craete a doctrine and I will call it the Doctrine of No Sin.

I believe this will serve as an antidote for many doctrines such as the doctrine of Calvinists and Once save always save.

And with my poor english I want to right a short handbook explaining the Doctrine of No Sin.

Hi Paul,

I voted "no". I don't believe the doctrine of Original Sin. I don't believe that Adam & Eve's sin (or the blame for it) is genetically passed on to infants. I do believe in what I would call "Chronic Sin". That is, we are born innocent but inevitably make choices contrary to God's will and, therefore, sin.

Two books come to mind that might be helpful in your studies:

Missing the Mark: Sin and its Consequences in Biblical Theology by Mark Biddle

Not the Way It's Supposed to Be: A Breviary of Sin by Cornelius Plantinga Jr.

i voted "no"- but i do believe we inherited a nature that will ultimately cause us to sin. in other words, if adam and eve had not sinned, i do not think their children would have had this "disadvantage"-- i.e. they would not have inherited a nature that would cause them to sin.

i'm reading a book by watchman nee called "the spiritual man." he believes that when adam sinned, the interrelationship of man's body, soul and spirit got messed up.

Tk, is he a Chinese. The reason I asked is because I read a man's lifestory and I have forgotten the name but I think it was Nee's lifestory that I read.

Watchman Nee is chinese- he died in 1972.

There is a book called "The Heavenly Man" about another chinese leader who is still alive- Brother Yun. Perhaps that is the book you read, although I am sure there are biographies about Watchman Nee out there.

Here is the chapter where Nee talks about the fall:

Yes, it was Nee's biography that I read.

He died in prison.

Were Adam & Eve plagued with original sin before the fall?

If not, how did they sin? I believe they were capable of sinning but not their inclination, but afterwards we're inclined towards sin but still capable of not. Odds are so stacked towards our inclination that we all will (and very quickly).
