Homer,

God had to overcome my prejudices for me to love Him as I now know Him. If Calvinism is true, I trust that He will be able to reveal it to me in a way that overcomes my present prejudices as well.

'Reason being, God is just like how I know Him.
I wish I knew Him better. He has me totally confused right now but I will still be a Christian no matter what I find out.

Amen Sister!

I don't even think we have scratched the surface of it yet...even with what we "think" we know now.

When I was a Calvinist, I was certainly a Christian.

Yet, if I were not a Christian at the present time, and were presented with "the Calvinist God" and/or a "God" who provides eternal torment of over 99% of the population", and became convinced that one or both of these were the only Christian possibilities, I think I would reject Christianity.

However, these speculations have no bearing on reality. None of the above is, in fact, the case.

of course it is never presented that way. i cant remember ever hearing (other than here) that God sends 99% of the people to hell. its much more subtle than that. you dont figure out the ramifications until later.
