This man apparently thought that he was sinless, that he had kept all of the commandments - that he was good. Apparently he wanted to compliment Jesus, who he also thought was good (but apparently he didn't believe that Jesus was God), by calling Him "Good teacher." No doubt, he was expecting Jesus to return the compliment by acknowledging that this man, too, was without sin. But Jesus, who knew the man's heart, surprised him with: "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone."
In other words, "Because you are not God, you are not good." However, Jesus knew that He Himself was without sin and so did all of the Bible authors. Obviously, Jesus is saying as plain as day, that He is God.

It's not surprising that there is no opposing response to these amazing verses. I don't think it's possible to miss what Jesus is saying here. Only God is good and Jesus knew that He was good, so He is claiming to be God.
