Uniformitarianism and 2 Peter 3

Hi Steve, I was listening to a recent broadcast and someone brought an odd interpretation of 2 Peter 3 I had never heard before which linked Uniformitarianism to it.

One thing that came to my mind was the consensus among Geologists for decades has been that Catastrophism which includes, among other things, major floods, plays a role in the earth’s appearance

So, even if this scripture at one time had any chance of applying to science, which, like you, I don’t think it did, It doesn't anymore.
