I am not wanting to add his name on the house as legal owner

Hi MLH,
I guess it makes a difference why you don't want to add your husband's name to the title. This is probably a private matter, however, so you'll have to weigh the options yourself, along with prayer and maybe godly counsel.
I can only say that if I was married and my spouse said, "Yeah. . . I'm inheriting property, but your name will not be on the deed," I'd be hurt. I would probably conclude that either he has something to hide or he doesn't trust me, which, to me, would be sad commentary on our marriage.

It may matter as to whether he is a believer or not. If he is i think it would probably go against the spirit of biblical marriage but i'm no expert so it's worth researching.
