What do you think about "healers"?

Post by _Beaver » Mon Jul 17, 2006 1:44 pm

I just read the story of a woman which suffered from skipped heartbeats.
They were so strong that she consulted a "healer". She said that the reason for her heart problems are rooted in her birth. She was born too early and they also used medication to induce the labor pains. He hypnotized her and then she had to live through her birth again and he clinched her with his arms and she had to free herself. And he encouraged her and lauded her and told her that she doesn't have to prove anything and that she is loved and accepted the way she is and then she started crying like crazy. Later he took her out of the hypnosis and touched her temples and she noticed a strong pressure on her head and also received "energy" from him. She also said that everybody can do this, you simply have to put your hand on somebody else and this way you can transfer "energy". She wrote that after this stuff she felt so loved and was totally happy. And later on she wrote that even weeks after this incident she still feels great and has much more interest in life and activities than before.

What do you think about this? This sounds totally occult to me. But what I don't understand is what this energy stuff is all about. Does this energy really exist and can be transferred from one person to the other like this woman claimed? First of all I would have said that this energy is demonic but supposing 2 normal people can experience this flow of energy by touching each other then how can it be demonic? It could only be demonic if one of them had demons or if a demon was present and I don't think that demons are present all the time and that there are enough demons for every person which lives on this planet.
And why does this woman feel better? Is this only temporary or is it possible that people are healed with occult stuff? How can Satan even heal people? I thought that only God can do creative miracles. But I have heard about faith healers which can actually heal people. :?

Beaver, it's impossible to answer this question because we don't know the situation. It could've been the power of suggestion for all we know. But can Satan heal people? No. The bible doesn't tell us anywhere that he has been given that power. However, God still blesses and heals nonbelievers at times because he loves people. The bible teaches that he sends water on the crops of the just and the unjust. The just acknowledge that the blesings come from God while others give credit to a force or energy, or sometimes themselves. But the bible teaches that every good gift comes from above... but that doesn't mean people will give credit where credit is due.

Hi JC,
I don't think this makes sense.
God would never heal a person through occult stuff. Faith healers are not healing people by the power of the Holy Spirit. If God healed people through occult stuff then he would even confuse the people and make it look like he doesn't mind these occult things.
And I also don't think that Satan cannot not heal. I have heard many stories of faith healers which could heal people with occult techniques. For example when you have a disease you go to a faith healer and he tells you to do something which is symbolic for example burrying something at midnight during a full moon and then you'll be healed and the people do this and then they are healed.

JC, I agree that satan can't heal people, but satan could order one of his subordinates to release the victim creating the illusion of healing. Can you think of a better way than that to draw a person away from God?

I would never recommend getting hypnotized. It's certianly not being "sober minded" nor is it relying on God. You never know what kind of damage can be done even by well intentioned hypnotists.

To add to that, I know someone who was hypnotized so they would stop smoking but not only did it not work, they suffered emotional problems and other stange effects from the "session".

Beaver, Satan is refered to as an angel of light. He has come to kill, steal and destry. I do not know exactly what took place with this woman, but I asssure you she was not healed by Satan. Hypnosis is dangerious in that it opens the mind to satanic activity and just like Sean said it causes more harm than good.

A lot of this could be false healing and an emotional euphoria, but if she was healed it was by God. What I would lke to see is where she is just a few months down the road.
