Hi

Post by _Crusader » Wed Apr 19, 2006 10:21 pm

JD I didnt write this and you know it..

"Found this in the news today....its so awesome to see it all fitting into place... It took place on a day that a Palestinian suicide bomber struck...in Tel Aviv, killing nine people in the deadliest bombing in more than a year." - Crusader

Maybe you would like to retract your false statement..or else you could leave it so others can simply review this post to see that I never wrote that...It would be the same as me doing something like this!

"I admit Crusader you are correct in your interpretation of Jeremiah, I have had to rethink a lot of my theology because of you...maybe I have confused Gods plan for Israel and the Church all along.." J.D.

Crusader, this is what you wrote:

Found this in the news today....its so awesome to see it all fitting into place...

"Israel warned Monday that a new "axis of terror" - Iran, Syria and the Hamas-run Palestinian government - is sowing the seeds of the first world war of the 21st century. The Palestinians accused Israel of an escalating military campaign using indiscriminate force to kill civilians and entrench its occupation.

The Israeli and Palestinian envoys traded charges at an open Security Council meeting held in response to the recent upsurge in Israeli attacks in Gaza. It took place on a day that a Palestinian suicide bomber struck a packed fast-food restaurant in Tel Aviv, killing nine people in the deadliest bombing in more than a year."

Crusader

I could not fit your entire post into my signature, as there were too many characters. You found a news item, and said, "its so awesome to see it all fitting into place..."

I simply quoted your words, your reaction to a news story, that included the deaths of nine people, "it's so awesome to see it all fitting into place..."

These words are not lifted out of context, which simply includes the when, where, who, and how of the story. You, my friend, at the "what" of the situation, nine people dying, said, "it's so awesome to see it all fitting into place..."

Should you complain further, I will simply cut and paste this post, for the world to see the entire context of this particular exchange.

Anybody can look back at the post and see what you said. Post your invented signature attributed to me, if you wish. People can look back and see if I said that.

Let this serve as an illustration to you of what lots of believers, and unfortunately, unbelievers, think of your theology, when human suffering is awesome to you, because you think it indicates Christ's whisking you away from any suffering yourself during the mythical 7 year tribulation.

Say to them: 'As I live,' says the Lord God, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?' - God

"it's so awesome to see it all fitting into place..." - Crusader

Would you like me to quote what unbelieving Jews think of your theology? This would only serve to further embarrass you, but you display a lack of shame, and may not understand the consequences of your doctrine, so this may very well not help at all.

First all your rantings and ravings dont bother me...and I need not explain myself to someone of your persuasion...but for the sake of the posts here , that clipping isnt mine its a news statement from AP or the like...and I think if the truth be known its infuriating to you because you and other preterists have such a difficult time explaining Israel and 1948....not to mention the fact that everyday you are constantly being redirected to the world stage and beholding this nation who God fortold would still be here and is always in the news. No one should revel in the death of innocent life but with all that said Israel centerstage is a fulfillment of last days prophecy....and nothing you can do can change it....if anything would be a shame to someone it would be that Israel ( not the Church) is mentioned by Old Testament prophets and that those promises are still in tact and yet you deny them and there isnt one place in the Bible that says God has failed to honor His Promises....Awesome yes.....tragic yes..but a fact we must deal with .......Israel is that stone around the neck of the nations in these last days...you can put a news quote in your signature, in you posts and attribute them to me..but those arent my words..and anyone who reads it will figure it out..... you need to deal with it JD...your apparent trickery with such an obvious news quote is only indicitive of the further means you will go to explain your theolgy when things like allegory and symbolism just dont get it done...you have a Burger King eschatology....you want it your way....

Crusader, you wrote,

"you can put a news quote in your signature, in you posts and attribute them to me..but those arent my words..and anyone who reads it will figure it out....."

Here is the post you reference:

Found this in the news today....its so awesome to see it all fitting into place...

People aren't stupid, friend. These are your words, that precluded the news item that you referenced. "Found this in the news today....its so awesome to see it all fitting into place..."

Pray tell, which items do you characterize as awesome? The first world war of the 21st century? Indiscriminate force to kill civilians? Nine people murdered in the deadliest bombing in over a year?

I was nice to you, in not pointing out to those who are less observant, that you find it awesome that the world is on the brink of a world war, according to some pundits. The last world war saw millions of dead people.

No trickery here, just a re-posting of your words.

"Found this in the news today....its so awesome to see it all fitting into place..."

Yes JD, that's exactly what Crusader wrote. But you must please remember that Crusader has a little problem with comprehension so we need to cut him a little slack.

You see, Crusader does not understand how to study his bible. He only seems to follow what others teach. So when Zech. 11 says:

10 And I took my staff, Beauty, and cut it in two, that I might break the covenant which I had made with all the peoples. 11 So it was broken on that day. Thus the poor of the flock, who were watching me, knew that it was the word of the LORD.

Crusader does not believe God's words that He can and has in fact broken the covenant with unbelieving Israel. And Crusader does not comprehend the plain language given by Paul that the promises are for the true Israel by saying:

2 Cor 1:20

20 For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

And Galatians 3:29

29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

So lets give this poor man a break. He can only handle a little at a time.

different viewpoints

Post by _mdh » Thu Apr 20, 2006 2:20 pm

I have been watching this thread for some time. I would like to gently request that we try to understand each others viewpoint without getting derogatory in our comments.

If one had a view that God was bringing the world to a climax, and that what was happening in the middle east was a sign of that, it might be possible to view the fulfillment of prophecy as "Awesome" without thinking that people being killed was the awesome part.

By the same token, I would think that someone who sees the promises of God as having been (for the most part) already fulfilled should be accepted without calling him names.

If indeed we are all members of the body of Christ, can we not accept each other without name calling and ridiculing? I know it can be frustrating when others cannot see what seems obvious to us, so sometimes perhaps the best approach is to let it go. Maybe?

Please take this in the spirit in which it is written,

In Christ!

Mike

mdh, I appreciate your attempt to calm us all down, but speaking for myself I have been making simple observations of a person who constantly misses the point of what is being said. If that is name calling then I apologize to not only Crusader but to all whom I may have offended. However, I have been in many forums and this by far is the most peaceful. I think that if Crusader really felt offended he would say so and I would expect him to. If you go back and read the line of posts done here you would see that this is not a battle we are undergoing but a common exchange of ideas and intellect.

I enjoy reading what Crusader says and the response back to him. I think Crusader does as well or he wouldn't keep coming back, but I will let him and others speak for themselves.

Forums are kind of funny in that if we were standing face to face exchanging these same thoughts we would also be observing body language and facial expressions and probably find it all a friendly exchange. On the forums you never know and can only try to be as true to your way of speaking as close as possible.

BTW, I'm not really Barney Fife, I just look like him for a while.

I am not here to defend Crusader, but just to try and have this conversation done in such a way that a non-believer would notice the love we all had for one another.

The comment above about Crusader having a problem with comprehension, was that necessary?
You see, Crusader does not understand how to study his bible. He only seems to follow what others teach.
To me this says that you know how to study the bible but Crusader does not. I suspect that when we all stand before God we will all have a little egg on our faces for our failure to understand the bible.
Crusader does not believe God's words that He can and has in fact broken the covenant with unbelieving Israel. And Crusader does not comprehend the plain language given by Paul that the promises are for the true Israel by saying…
So lets give this poor man a break. He can only handle a little at a time.
Allyn, I am not trying to pick on you. Its just you were the first one to respond to me. I did not have to dig back very far to find what to me seems like unnecessary language.

Perhaps I am the only one upset by this kind of talk. If someone told me I had a comprehension problem, that I did not understand clear teaching of scripture, that I did not believe God’s words, that I could only handle a little at a time, I know I would be hurt by this.

What I would hope for (on BOTH sides) is for respect for others viewpoints and humility when expressing differences of opinion.

I am not the moderator of this forum, and perhaps other forums are worse. Still, I think we can do better.

Please forgive me if I have spoken out of turn or misrepresented anyone.
