Mike where do you get the idea that Christ's reign is eternal?

Paul clearly states in I Corinthians 15, that Christ will reign only until all His enemies are under His feet. Then He turns the Kingdom over to the Father, that God may be all in all!

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power.

For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. For "He has put all things under His feet." But when He says "all things are put under Him," it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all. I Corinthians 15:22-28 NKJV

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

It sounds like a good observation there. I have usually relied on the text of Isa 9:6-7 that there would be no end to the increase of His kingdom. My focus had been on the nature of the kingdom as we might encounter the kingdom.

One thing interesting is that 1Cor 15 says "He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power" which in part seems to include political powers -- that there would be no political powers. The question arises "What is left after the kingdom is delivered to the Father?" Does God still maintain the existence of the kingdom or does the need cease to continue to exist as a kingdom?

I'm not sure how to reconcile Isa 9:6-7 with 1Cor 15 but there are some options:
1) that the increase of the kingdom occurs with no end only while the kingdom exists
2) that the kingdom given to God (yet remains Christ's as well, or has continuity with Christ's) still continues to grow

My main point about Rev 20 was that no restriction was placed on the reign of Christ by the millennial period described therein.
