To me, there is still no conflict evident. I think the conquest was in forcing Pharaoh, against his wishes, to lose huge numbers of valuable slave labour. He may not have been willing to concede defeat, but his mighty army wasn’t very effective against frogs, locusts, etc. – not to mention the death of every firstborn male in Egypt.

The fact that God chose to influence Egyptian women to be favourably disposed in giving, doesn’t necessarily mean one couldn’t look on those gifts as spoils of war – the Egyptian people may have been more discerning as to the reality of their situation than their pharaoh was!

p.s. I agree with it being wrong to ask unbelievers for that kind of help. (re. previous posts).
