Re: Preaching to Myself
In my follow up sermon to the one posted above (on the fact that we were created in God's image), I preached on the wrath of God at my home church this Sunday.
I'd be interested in feedback if anyone has the time/interest.
I may have responded to an extreme understanding of God's wrath a bit too far in the other direction. I'm still thinking it through.

Re: Preaching to Myself
It's a difficult topic for sure. Paul tells us to behold not just the kindness of God—but his severity as well. It's easy to err into the ditch on either side of that road.

Re: Preaching to Myself
Just finished a series where I preached AS 3 different bible characters
week 1 was Luke
week 2 was Samuel
week 3 was a mystery guest
The series was called "The Travelers" and was loosely based on a recent sci-fi tv show

Re: Preaching to Myself
Enjoyed preaching a 3 week series on Jesus' Transfiguration
Week 1 was about how Jesus is the best possible revelation of God
Week 2 was about how that must impact how we use the Bible
Week 3 was speculation on why 4th gospel account doesn't include transfiguration story
Audio can be found here for anyone interested...

Re: Preaching to Myself
Well said Matt. Jesus is a revelation of God rather than a revelation from God, as were the words of Moses and the prophets. A subtle sounding yet enormous difference.Week 1 was about how Jesus is the best possible revelation of God
