Moses was the author of the Pentateuch
Joshua 8:30-35 clearly shows us that Moses was the author of the Pentateuch. Joshua "wrote there on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, WHICH HE HAD WRITTEN, in the presence of the sons of Israel." Verse 34 - Then afterward he read ALL the words of the law, the blessing and the curse, according to ALL that is written in the book of the law. THERE WAS NOT A WORD OF ALL THAT MOSES HAD COMMANDED WHICH JOSHUA DID NOT READ BEFORE ALL THE ASSEMBLY OF ISRAEL ...

Re: Moses was the author of the Pentateuch
It's reasonable to conclude that the Pentateuch is a compilation of Moses' writings. His work is the source for Gen - Deut. That's where I land anyway. Perhaps that's what you're saying as well.dwight92070 wrote:Joshua 8:30-35 clearly shows us that Moses was the author of the Pentateuch. For instance, Moses dies at the end of Deuteronomy. He didn't write that part.

Most Christians would agree, it's secularists who claim that there were several writing styles in the Pentateuch which mean different authors. Moses probably got Genesis from various written and verbal sources and perhaps there was some collaberation at some points, but Moses probably wrote it over many years in many different places so he could have had different writing styles throughout his life.
