So . . . if the Christian has died the same death Christ died -- in every respect -- how could the Christian lose their salvation and have to die again, for the Bible says Christ never has to die again? When it says we died with him, and were raised with him, could it be that it is referring to a s...

I've been say "in tune" or "in step" with the Spirit before where I felt like I was beside myself and was overwhelmed with joy, but it never was anything that is like what you see in some charismatic or pentecostal services.

What do you think "total depravity" means from a "Calvinist" point of view? Is this just the "highlighted" version or do you think this is precisely what a Calvinist thinks? Fallen man cannot do or work any good, comprehend or apprehend the good and cannot have any desire towards the good until "in...

Is it just for a judge to forgive men who do not glorify him in every thought and deed? Can a holy and righteous God who puts Himself above all (and must) set aside the glory of his righteousness to forgive man who places himself above God in his actions? Um, the Father in the parable of the prodig...

The Atonement

This is a continuance of Johnathon's post to Paidion in the thread Prevenient Grace. Replying to Paidion, Johnathon wrote: Is it just for a judge to forgive men who do not glorify him in every thought and deed? Can a holy and righteous God who puts Himself above all (and must) set aside the glory of...

Considering it was one of the sermons that sparked the greatest revival in American history, I will let the fruit of which speak for itself.
So just what does this "fruit" validate? God's love, or theological validity?

Is that not the starting point of the gospel? I know we have our little tracts that start off with "God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life", but is that where the scriptures start? What are you talking about? Not at all. Rather, Calvinism holds these in proper balance. God's love and ...

The sarcasm continues. But underneath the sarcasm is the plain denial that we all deserve hell for our sins, and that God is obligated to provide the means for us to escape the due punishment for them. Grace evidently can be demanded. Friend, such reasoning only has it's strength by focusing on the...

Thanks. Just to clarify, since you said that you agree with the article, do you then hold that the fall has left all men with an inability to turn to God and exercise faith, and that this inability can only be remedied by the administration of prevenient grace, which restores to man the ability to ...

I agree with the article, and I agree with Paidion's examples wicked men's unselfish acts of good, which I emphatically affirm that God is pleased with them insofar as these acts go. However, I see these acts as evidence of God's grace, instead of an inner ability rendering God's gracious activity u...
