One of the issues that I run into very often, is that Christians tell me that Church is not equipping them any more. Preaching becomes boring, not enough spiritual meat etc. I once heard a guy at my favorite books store to go to, because it carries all the theological stuff, none of these self help Christian books etc. He was asked by a customer about the church he went to, because the customer knew who his pastor was. The customer asked "how's his preaching?" The response was " it was good for the first three years, I still go there because of the great fellowship" The book store guy is a very knowledgeable guy.
I have run into this very often now a days.
Any comments???
Michael

Michael,
Seems that the answer would be quite different for someone who sincerely wants to be a disciple of Jesus as opposed to someone who, as Dallas Willard puts it, goes as a "consumer of Christian goods and services".
Yours in Christ, Homer
