I believe that much of the water that now fills the oceans was underground before the flood. I also believe that the world was probably much flatter than it is today. The mountain ranges were formed some time later, and I believe the continents started to take the form we see today during the time of Peleg. The Bible says the earth was divided in his day (Genesis 10:25). This was a result of the earth's crust breaking up when the underground springs broke open, and provided much of the water for the flood. Remember the continents are still connected, there is just water in the low areas.
