What happens when you commit suicide

What happens when you commit suicide?
Do you become unsaved?
I feel like I'm suicidal.

Since no living person has yet died in any sense—neither from suicide nor from sickness, accident, murder, or other cause, I don't think anyone qualifies to KNOW what happens to any individual after death.

I hope you consider that God made you for a reason and purpose and it was not to commit suicide so please think carefully about the good you can do for others simply through your intelligence. Also i bet there are people who would be devastated by your action.
My personal opinion which doesn't mean very much is that it wouldn't make you unsaved but the question is not addressed in the bible so opinions are not really worth much.

As a universal reconciliationist I believe the Lord gets what he wants eventually, which is to have you in His loving arms.

If you aren’t saved you will go to hell, and it becomes a matter of how long. I wouldn’t want to find out though.

Since God himself could take you at any time, and he has not done so, suicide would definitely be against his will. A sin, yes, but no one here can say with certainty how it affects us on the other side.

I take it things did not go well with your wife. I’ve read that men have 10x the suicide rate as women in divorce cases so you definitely are not alone in these thoughts.

Right now I’d find a counselor, any counselor, who has some background in your situation, which again is very common unfortunately, so one should be easy to find.

Again, no living person has experienced life after death, and so no one knows any aspect of it.

Hi Paul,

I haven't posted in a while and I came on tonight to find this question. I have always thought of suicide as the one sin that you don"t have a chance to repent of. Would a person repent if they could? I guess this is the fundamental question. God would know the heart of course and would be able to make that determination. A more important question now would be, Why do you feel suicidal?

I think it would be important right now for you to seek counsel, to seek those who love you and share your faith. I'm not at all certain that you can get what you need from an online forum. I hope all that read this will keep you in their prayers.

Regards, Brenden.
