Karen,

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you're asking why Catholics accept their version of the Bible I may be able to answer that. Do you know anything about King James? Would you buy a Bill Clinton Bible?

Hello Tom,

Maybe you ahould show this Protestant believer in her Scripture that the Protestant Bible is actually a hybrid mix of the Catholic and Jewish OT that they hold so dearly as the strict word of God. It is right there in Isiah 7:14. Take care. Popeman

Popeman, in case you weren't aware -- Karen is LDS. Also, perhaps you could show here and not merely ask Tom to do so.

Karen,

My contention with all the Church's out there is not all can be the true Church. And when I say this I refer to Acts 15, the first council. The early Church did exactly what the Bible tells us to in Matt 18. If you try to resolve a moral Christian issue you are to try to work it out between Christians. If you can not resolve it you take it to the Church, the pillar and bulwark of Truth!

Now, Steve Gregg has said after two or more can't resolve the issue we take it to who's church that person belongs to. So if I have a Christian moral issue that you feel I'm wrong and we can not resolve it together we are to take two or more Christians and see if we can bring clarity to this issue. If we can not we are to take it to the Church. Steve says you take it to your LDS Church and I take mine to the Catholic Church!? Wow we really solved that issue!!!

I am going to ask Darin to start a new thread regarding this issue. I hope if we start it you will gone us.

Love,

Tom

And you hear them different than Evangelicals do. So now what?

Hello Karen,

My dear friend is LDS as a Bishop performing marriages, etc and he considers himself a Protestant because his faith also protests the Roman Catholic Christians, so on the the comments that you are an LDS confused me.

So let me ask my non-LDS Protestants herein, what does your Bible say Isiah 7:14 is (I ask so to get your Bible qoute, not mine). In this way I won't have everyone saying "no, mine says this, or that...etc". So give the qoute and get your sharpened pencils out, OK? Baruch Hashem Popeman
