It was so funny when you mentioned "scrapbooking" that I wondered if everyone here knows just how LDS scrapbooking and card making can get. It almost seems that if you are into scrapbooking you certainly must be LDS. But alas....... Sarah is found not to be LDS though lives in SLC,UT and has done scrapbooking.
LOL! Yes, I had friends who were thoroughly jealous that I would be moving to Utah, where scrapbooking is sooooooo popular. And I've had the chance to make some good friends, both LDS and Christian, and deepen relationships in the hours I've spent cutting and pasting bits of paper together. ;)

Thanks! :D I've been known to have an opinion or two myself. ;)

My family loves the dinosaur museum! We've had a lot of fun visiting it. We don't have a membership this year--we opted for the zoo, instead. Maybe next year we'll get another membership. The store to which you are referring is Cabela's, and it's pretty amazing, I hear. My dh and our three bigs have gone there a couple times and gotten fun things like walkie-talkies and flashlights.

I didn't actually see your post where you mentioned scrapbooking, but since Karen's was the last post, I read hers and since she wrote AS IF you wrote about it, I'm going to trust that you did, and send....
I know I posted it somewhere...maybe another thread? And, yes, next time you're in the SLC area, if you're interested in scrapping together just give me a holler. :)
selah wrote:You know what I think is cool about you coming into the forum? The timing. Since my LDS son and family live in UT, and since I've been on the forum, I've wondered who in UT can I relate to? You see, some of the Christians that I currently fellowship with in Oregon once attended the GCS in McMinnville so since you said that you attended the entire school? anyway, I thought, how cool is this? that you should come at the time you did! Thank you. It is really nice to meet you--and we may even know some of the same people (kindof like facebook, isn't it? ) ---without the faces--- you know, you know some people, I know the same people, but you and I don't know each other...well, I'll ask my friends if they know a lady named Sarah from SLC!
It's possible! And I'm on facebook, too....email me if you want to be friends there. :)

selah wrote: Hi Sarah, I meant to get back to you before now. I listened to the Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount. Had a few technical difficulties with the internet signal pausing too often, too long, but what I could track was very intriguing. The main thing, according to your pastor, the Beatitudes are the underlying teaching for every other teaching related to Christian action and response in life....wow, I just got an idea! Thanks so much, Sarah, anything else on this, I'm interested because I have to prepare/present by next Thursday "Living as a Christian; How Christians should treat people." wow, I'm going to re-read the Sermon on the Mount!
But I do have a question. Why isn't there another archived sermon on the subject. All that is there is the intro.
Thanks again,
:D
I'm so glad you got some benefit from hearing the sermon. :)

If you'd like to hear more in the series, just go to the next chronological sermon. They weren't all labeled "Sermon on the Mount", but Bryan did go in order. I think the next one in the series was "What Can You Expect From the Kingdom", September 28, 2008.

Sarah, are members of your church required to subscribe to the set of beliefs posted at the site?

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.
