I found this on wikipedia. It seems to be an unbiased presentation of this dilemma.

What dilemma?

I read the article, and the only problem with hell that I encountered in it, was the idea of reconciling the concept of a loving God with that of sinners being sent to an eternal hell.

If we understand the correction of hell to be temporary, and God's loving judgment to lead each sinner to repentance and submission to Christ, and to shape the his character, the "dilemma" evaporates.

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

First, the article points out that infinite punishment for a finite life of sins is unbalanced and unjust. Secondly, it explains that hell, as commonly understood, is inconsistent with the revealed character of God in Christ.

The dilemma is only for those who believe in hell as commonly taught in most churches today. Universal Reconciliation solves the dilemma.

I also found it interesting that a site like Wikipedia would have an article like this.
