I quoted the poem or verse, as I would quote a Psalm or a hymn, not because I agreed with all of it theologically, but just because I thought it was something worth quoting.
Let's try this one with appropriate exegesis:
Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep, and can't tell where to find them.
Now that's logical, isn't it? It's logical to assume, that if Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep, well... of course, she can't tell where to find them.
But leave them alone ....
Leave them alone. LEAVE THEM ALONE! If Little Bo Peep can't tell where to find them, she'd have to leave them alone, wouldn't she?

... and they ("they" being the sheep) will come home...
THEY WILL COME HOME! Oh, there'll be a brighter day tomorrow. They will come home!
... wagging their tails....
I guess so. Pray tell, what else could they wag?
