Well, I mentioned that it is pointless for the gospel to be lasting, if it is proclaimed only in this life. The very fact that it, like the fires of Gehenna, are lasting, implies a proclaiming of it beyond this life. But apparently this made no impact upon you whatever. Do you have any response to this?

But if there is no proclamation of the gospel beyond this life, what can Paul possibly mean by the f ollowing?

To me the leaster of all saints, this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles, the incomprehensible riches of Christ, and to bring to light what is the administration of the secret of that which was concealed for ages in God, the One who created all things, that the variegated wisdom of God might now be made known through the Church to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. Ephesians 3:8-10

Do you know any parts of the Church today who makes known the wisdom of God to the evil powers of the air? Paul states that he brought to light the long-hidden secret that the Church could now (even in Paul's day) begin to do so.

In the very next verse we read this amazing clincher:

This was in keeping with the purpose of the ages which He carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And what was this purpose of the ages? Through the Church, to make the wisdom of God known to evil powers, and implicitly to ALL who are, and will be, rebels against Him!

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.
