I guess you could say I grew up in a calvinistic belief system. I belive in God's election in that He chose that all who believe in Christ will be saved, but that we have to choose to accept Christ.. My question is what, in your belief of what the scriptures say, would lead to falling away from salvation? Is there specific sin, or is it just a general state of unrepentance? What about sins that we don't even know we are commiting? One thing I have learned as I have grown in the grace of God, is that as He helps me to deal with areas of my life, He then shows me more areas that I had never even thought of, to bring even more change.
Thanks and God bless,
Jason

Jason, I do not believe that any specific sin would cause one to fall away. But sins may lead one to unbelief. And unbelief is what separates one from God.

Paul speaks to church folk who were saved, but left the faith through returning to sin. Read 1 Timothy 4:1-3 "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."
Sin is the only thing that can separate you from God, read
Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear."
There is no specific sin because sin is sin. No such thing as a lesser evil, read James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

AMEN
Lets start living as though WE are responsible for OUR sins.......
JESUS did say He'd NEVER leave US or forsake US....We leave....We allow ourselves to walk in unbelief and we separate from HIM.
I have many times in 30 years become discouraged, walked in unbelief,
fear and the many discouragements we all face, BUT GOD delivered me.
I have not walked in sin that I chose but allowed myself to not always
believe GODS truth in my circumstance because I was heavily invovled in MY problems.......Cast ALL your care upon HIM for HE cares for you!
I choose to believe that I am responsible and that CHRIST died for ALL
not just ELECT, we are ALL ELECT otherwise GOD would be a respector of persons....... How totally unfair. Of course he knows the beginnings from the end but gives men choice......... Just like some of our children who were taught in truth but have strayed are they not our children?
There is NO unrighteousness in GOD.....
There is in man.
