Moderators, you can move this post to a different area if you need to, as this does not apply directly to Calvinism/Arminianism. However, I want to post it here as this is a recent hot-spot of activity.

Steve's teaching on eschatology (through the BAM show) and Calvinism (through Dr. White's mentions) have gotten him a fair amount of attention recently and are the teachings that he perhaps is most known for.

To a certain extent, I think this is unfortunate. I appreciate his teachings on these subjects, but these are not the most important of his teachings. If all you have heard is Steve's teachings on Calvinism or Eschatology, I would greatly encourage you to listen to the following lectures. I appreciate Steve's teachings on a variety of subjects, but I think these are his most important contributions, and these are things that should be important to people regardless of their position on Calvinism or Eschatology.

If a Calvinist listens to Toward a Radically Christian Counterculture, I think they might be suprised at the level of day to day practical trust that Steve places in the sovereignty of God.

If a Dispensationalist listens to Some Assembly Required, I think they might be surprised that Steve does not at all view this as an issue to divide over.

If an Arminian listens to Refuse to Be Offended, I think they would understand that Steve is not at all offended by Dr. White's critiques of his teaching, and I would encourage the Arminians (which I am one) to not be offended either.

These are all very practical teachings that have made the most impact of any of Steve's teachings on how I live my day to day Christian life.

Same here. Especially Toward a Radically Christian Counterculture. I can not think of any teaching on discipleship that has been more important and challenging to me. It has greatly affected my walk with the Lord.

In light of what you have been saying about Dr white, your last remark I find in no way funny.

Just because a certain so-called "minister" is sinful, and has a sinful pattern of behavior in the ways he deals with other people, and I take on the unpleasant, and often misunderstood task of confronting and exposing it, does not mean that I allow such things to sour me. Its your problem if you don't want to face reality, and if you don't have a sense of humor.

I've found several of Steve's lectures "life changing!" Of course, it is the Word of the Lord doing its work in me. I can't say I agree with anyone 100% (including myself, lol) but I've benefitted a lot from what Steve offers.

Under "Topical Lectures" the "Social Norms Between the Sexes" taught me a few things I had never really even heard before! "Isaiah" is very good.

"Verse by Verse Teaching" ... the "Intro to Revelation" lectures are great for an overview of all of the major "camps" of Eschatology (aka, "the end times (or) last things"). I've never heard Revelation chapter 20 handled as in-depth! (As an aside, I became an Amillennialist in almost the same way Steve did; we are both former Dispensationailsts...the same texts that "convinced" Steve were the ones that led to my abandoning dispensationalism).

Steve does a better job with "The Olivet Discourse" than anyone I have ever heard (and I took a pretty "deep" 3 hour course in Eschatology in a Bible college).

At the digitalministries link the "Great Commission School Series" (from 2000) has lectures that are covered in Steve's regular site but there are different "angles" to his approach. "The Preeminence of God the Father" is way excellent; it gave me a fresh gaze into the Awesome SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD -- and enhanced my prayer life quite noticably! Don't miss the "Relationships" lectures (including the ones on "Friendship" and "Faithfulness"). I've listened once to the brand new "Biblical Salvation" and will listen to it again, I'm sure ... just really good stuff from Brother Steve!

If for nothing else, with Steve's "panoramic view of the Scriptures" ... he gets you to really thinkin about them....

P.S. The Good Lord has recently provided me with a better paying job. I hope to soon contribute a little something to Steve's work.
