Hi Steve 7150,

Someone near and dear to my wife and me proclaims himself to be an atheist. My wife can not understand why, and when she considers Calvinism she finds in it a plausable reason why. Calvinism offers an easy explanation as to why reasonable people look at the same data and reach opposite conclusions. But my wife is not a Calvinist; she just sees the possibility it is true. On the other hand, she considers universalism and hopes it is true, and she is not a universalist, but sees it as also possible. And she is content in her faith which rests on facts.

God bless, Homer

Hi Homer,

It does explain certain things that seem to not make much sense yet because traditional Calvinism predestines most to eternal hell , it goes beyond scripture IMHO and claims people are totally depraved to justify the reason that God predestines hell to most , because they are all evil and deserve it.
I think it is possible predestination is true through God's sovreignty , but for the purpose of his will being done, which is that none should perish in the fullness of time.
Maybe your wife might consider this viewpoint which is that consistent Calvinism leads to CU.
