Problem #6 - Apparently signature lines were at some point deleted too.

The questions John will need to answer for us is:
1. Would he be willing to put an ASCII copy of the database on an FTP server for us to access (with passwords removed, especially if public)?
2. Could John look into what backup copies of the database or database files exist that might allow for missing posts to be retrieved if not otherwise possible?

If not, I could provide the access to a small group of defined folks (on my home server) during such a project.

i have a friend who is interested in joining the forum- will he be able to, or not? he has never previously signed up.
