Praying for Dogs?

I have a friend who is apart of our small group and asked for prayers for her dog. Are we ever given instructions in Scripture to pray for such a request?
I know that we can pray for her and her husband but what about her dog. Any thoughts?

can/does God heal animals? if the answer is yes, i see nothing wrong with praying for them. i am sure when horses were the main mode of transport, there was a lot of praying for horses.

Phil 4:6
6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
NKJV
I don't think it hurts anything to pray for our pets. If nothing else, it makes us feel better when we commit all things to God's will and ability.

I have most certainly prayed for my dog, and the animals of other people.
Meet Frank. I love this guy!

Hello, Frank,
You are adorable Frank. I prayed for my friend, pet, today as he
was very ill and I took him to the Doc. He's going to be alright
and I am thankful for answered prayers. Yes, it's ok that we pray
for animals.....At least I have the faith to...
