Mordecai in Ezra 2

In reading the Book of Ezra there is a list of the Jews who returned from the captivity in Babylon.

Would anyone have any insight about the Mordecai listed in Ezra 2:2 as to whether it could be the same Mordecai in the book of Esther?

I know we are dealing with approximately the same time frame. Maybe the Mordecai in Esther lived a long lifetime and is one of those who returned with Zerrubabel. Or maybe it was just a common Jewish name and the Mordecai in Ezra is a different person.

Answers anyone?

Yeah, maybe a common Jewish name. Remember, Mordecai got pretty popular. He had some authority.

Maybe it was an honor to name your child Mordecai, after a famous Jewish man who helped save the Jewish people from the proposed extermination that was suggested by Haman.
