Extrabiblical revelations

I know when I read the Bible I sometimes get the "aahhh" experience when something connects or makes sense to me that I didnt notice before, giving me a revelation from His word.
I have a brother in Christ who gets his "revelations" from his experiences. His claim is that since there is more truth out there than just the Bible then God must have much more to say to us. Hence, the experiences become the primary source for truth.
I realize God has different relationships with His followers, and speaks in differing ways, so how are we to handle extrabiblical revelations?
lotta luv
