Does anyone know what would be a good approach to take with respect to sharing the Gospel with lifelong Hindus? I am going overseas to visit family during the holidays and they are wonderful people, but practice (because of their culture) the Hindu religion. Speaking to them in love, I have attempted to share the love of Christ and the message of salvation to them. They seem to find that this is interesting and good, but because of their Eastern mindset, they don't seem to find it necessary to change their lifestyle, as they can't seem to accept the notion that any one religion/relationship is necessary to embrace . It seems to me that part of their hesitance is that their whole culture is Hindu and they are lifelong Hindus (convenience). I feel that winning every possible theological argument is not necessary because I don't see that as changing their minds. Does anyone have any practical advice from experience or any ideas of a godly approach to take? I am going to pray and trust the Lord when I share the love of Christ with them, as I deeply want to see my family members find Christ.[/i]

I don't actually have a whole lot of advise to give on this. However, I can point you in a direction that can definilty help.

www.rzim.org is the web site for Ravi Zacharias. He is, in my opinion, one of the best Christian apologist of our day, and happend to grow up in India. He is very knowledgeable about sharing Jesus with people of Eastern thought. His web site has alot of good resources for Eastern & Western thought, among other things.

The only other thing I have heard to remember when talking to Hindu, or Muslims, or even Buddists, is go sslllooowwww. As you stated, for a Hindu to embrace Jesus is to leave his entire culture behind. That usually doesn't happen overnight. Also remember we only present the truth, God is the one who changes the heart.

JJR, Just want to add my 2cents. I think in the Hindu religion/culture if one is born into a class then they are stuck there for life and most are born into lower classes. I think it's called the caste system as you would know. The idea that God loves and values all his children equally could be very appealing to the majority of hindus in the lower classes
