Truths and Lies

This is one scenario—indicating that most people would prefer to buy comforting lies rather than unpleasant truths.

Or the left line might be titled "unpleasant lies" and the right line "comforting truths." Strangely enough, in that case there may be more people in the left line, ready to buy "unpleasant lies" than there are those in the right to buy "comforting truths." This may reflect the pessimism of many or most people who expect the worst, who think that the everlasting comforts of love, joy, and peace, are just too good to be true.

Man judges a person by his past deeds, and administers penalties for his wrongdoing. God judges a person by his present character, and disciplines him that he may become righteous.

Walking in a peace that years ago I would have never dreamed possible, the thought, "This is too good to be true" comes to mind. Pinching myself, "It is true," comes to mind.

I think I would like the 'unpleasant truths' booth - let's get the show on the road and get it over with!! But, that's pretty bold. Rather, I think God opens our eyes bit by bit as we are able to adapt to and absorb His great truths.
