Which country?

Consider the sentence: "The sun shone brightly yesterday."

If you were raised in either United States or Canada, then post a word which rhymes with "shone", and I will state the country in which you were raised.

That would be too easy, Paidion! You have to also tell us how you get the right answer.

I came across this quite by accident!

I found that eveyone I asked who was raised in Canada (including myself) pronounce "shone" in a way which rhymes with "gone", while everyone I asked who was raised in United States pronounce the word in a way which rhymes with "bone".

So Jeremiah and Rich, I would say you were raised in United States. Perry, I don't know about you. Did you learn about rhyming when you went to school?

I was thinking "drone". Don't think Canada uses drones.

Oh, there are millions of drones in Canada! (That is, male honey bees).

Hey, "gnome" rhymes with "shone", way better than "good" rhymes with "food". ;)
