Smith was the founder and author of the website called bibletruths.com and it was at this site (quite by accident) that i became acquainted with Christian Universalism.
He has a series of articles on his site called "the lake of fire" where he describes how the majority of mankind will be saved through this method which when i first saw it , it immediately struck me as a real possibility for a loving and just God to have a lake of fire with a purposeful and just outcome.
Smith was a very good writer (IMO) and at times could be obnoxious and caustic but really stuck to scripture when he was making his points.
His biblical background was that he didn't belong to a church, and worked as a roofer and taught himself the bible.
I'm sad he died this May from bone cancer because to me, he was a gift from God. His website is still up and i hope it stays up until Jesus returns.
