Yesterday our home fellowship listened to Steve's talk on having a vision for children. During the discussion afterwards, some of us thought that filling our quiver with orphans might be just as good if not more so than just having unprotected sex and seeing how many kids God will bless you with. There are thousands and thousands of precious souls in orphanages around the world who would really benefit from having parents who would train them up in the way they should go.
Also a doctor in the group mentioned that Christian couples (where the wife is 35 or older) who make no attempt to limit their blessings in this area have just as great a risk of having children with birth defects as unsaved couples. I realize children with birth defects are also a blessing, but should the knowledge that this risk is very real cause those over the age of 35 to use caution?
I'd like to get others' thoughts...
Filling one's quiver through adoption?
Filling one's quiver through adoption?
Let me boldly state the obvious. If you are not sure whether you heard directly from God, you didn’t.

Re: Filling one's quiver through adoption?
Very interesting topic -- I have thought a lot about this one -- I'd like to see what others have to say before I do so.
