are among my favourite words that Jesus spoke.
The talentless, gormless but relatively very innocent geek from the chicken factory stood before Mr Success:

God bless his cotton socks.
This is actually a serious post and not just to raise a giggle. How do the above words by Jesus fit in with the commonly accepted belief that there is something this lad has to do to qualify for the above to be true - namely repent and believe.
And if he doesn`t so do, then "the last" won`t be "first" in his particular case, will he?
"the last will be first and the first will be last"
Re: "the last will be first and the first will be last"
If I may attempt to half-answer my own question:
The fabulously rich and (by women at least) admired Simon Cowell (the man on the right) is likely to find repentance and submission much more difficult than the hapless contestant before him who feels the tag "loser" stamped on his forehead 24/7. But if our factory worker gets bitter and doesn`t do what is required of him for salvation? Then the words of Jesus would ultimately fail to apply to that situation. Both would end up "last" to all intents and purposes.
I sometimes raise impossible to answer questions, I know - just like my post about the handicapped.
