I posted this on another forum. I have never taken this chapter to be speaking of the end times but as a seperate event.

This is the instructions given to the twelve.

Mathew 10:5(M)These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them: "Do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the (N)Samaritans;
6but rather go to (O)the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Then after Jesus finished giving his instructions and warnings scripture says:
Mathew 11: 1(A)When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there (B)to teach and preach in their cities.

Jesus seems to have left the twelve for a short time to preach in their cities. It seems to me that Jesus said the disciples would't finish going thru those cities prior to Him returning and meeting up with them again. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the end of the age.

Mathew 24:14 is speaking of a diffrent event thus two distinct seperate events.

It seems that mathew 11:1 should actually be the ending to mathew 10.

So are you suggesting that Matthew 24, unlike Matthew 10 may be referring to end-time events?

Or are you suggesting that Matthew 24 is simililar to Matthew 10 in being simply Jesus' instructions to his disciples, but was a different occasion?

I am suggesting that Mathew 10 is a period of time during Jesus earthly ministry and not about end-times, while mathew 24 is speaking of the end-times or end of the age. This making mathew 10 and 24 two seperate events and not related.

Thank you. That is the way I see it also.
