I read not long ago that the group known as the Masonic lodge is losing membership here in the united states.

My father and numourous other family members were involved with this "fraternity".
I have always thought the lodge to be satanic and anti-Christ.

What do you guys/gals think?

I don't know if it's actually consistently Satanic or more just a humanistic type of organization that tends to exalt man and portray God in a pretty general way , almost as an afterthought way.

Most of the symbolism in freemasonry has satanic origins. There dogma is also very close to Gnostic type stuff.

i believe that freemasonry requires vows that would be inconsistent/not possible for followers of Christ. i believe there are websites that discuss some of the "secrets" involved in freemasonry. and i believe dan brown of the davinci code fame is writing a new book about the founding fathers and their free-masonry involvement/conspiracy in the founding of the nation.

My understanding is that Joseph Smith was a Mason. Interesting enough is the fact that the Mason Symbol resembles the stitching you that is found on the breast section of the undergarments that Mormons wear. I don't know if this proves anything I just found it to be interesting observation given the connection between the two groups. Check out the link below and you can see examples of Mormon and Mason imagery that is strikingly similar.

there is little doubt about that-- and how will the masons stem the tide of the thousands of people who will want to join up after reading the book (and of course seeing the movie)?

Very interesting.
If my history serves me correct, Joe joined the Masons and then claimed that they had been corrupted(go figure), and that he restored the lost secrets. Or something along that line.
Joseph was quite the character to say the least
