So far it appears that the argument breaks down to the logic of the mutually exclusive.
1)God is God
2)God's ways are perfect.
3)Even if man doesn't find "reason" for His actions His actions are Just and Right:
Why?

I apologize if this is an over simplification of the afore discourse but try as I might, the Big Picture analogies just don't cut it for me.
I find the challenge on the "revelation" of God presented by Paidion interesting but am unconvinced as i have no prior research in that area.
I see a paradox between the words of Jesus Christ and O.T events as presented in the Original Post. Not just that but the seeming instructions to carry out the "unthinkable"
I'll let the conflict rest inside my soul for now. Its a burden that I will not carry.

Is this the one you believe to be too squeamish to cancel the tickets of a whole race whose demonic practices (including the murdering of their own babies) he had endured for centuries without their repenting?
