I want to make one point in this discussion originated by soaring eagle's 10 questions concerning how Jesus could be God. That point is: Jesus didn't come here to be God. He came here to be Man. When Satan tempted jesus by saying "If you are the son of God" then turn these stones to bread...Jesus responded by saying "Man shall not live by bread alone." He contiually refered to himself as the son of man.
Because of Adam's fall the entire human race was a race of fallen sinners...because we all came out of Adam. God needed a sinless man and none of us could qualify to fill that role.
When the word became flesh and dwelt among us then God the Father finally had a sinless man on earth. Only the death of a sinless man could be an acceptable atonement for the rest of the fallen race. This is how the man Jesus could call God his Father. This is how God could be his God. Because he took the position of "man" here. He came to be the perfect man to accomplish the will of God on earth.
And now this pefect man has been ressurected and ascended and is in the heavenlies with the Father. Is Jesus God.....Absolutely. Is he also man....Abslolutely. So I see no contradictions in any of soaring eagles questions concerning Jesus being God.
