Seems to me Black Friday is an opportunity to practice good stewardship. My HP printer copier works very well. Purchased a few years ago on BF at WalMart for $25. Could have waited and paid much more, but for what good reason? BF is neither good nor bad, there to be used advantageously or abused, as is any other day. We should be giving thanks every day.

I'd say that's a good point :)

What can we, as Christians, do to make Thanksgiving day more meaningful? Like feeding those who have no place to go and feel welcome, and making music to the Lord. . .

I too, feel for people who have to work on holidays. We can hardly ever have a holiday family meal because our daughter is always coming from or to work. . .

I agree there is something nice about a national holiday where 'everyone' is enjoying family and not out shopping, but the shopping is (possibly) for gifts for others at Christmas - that's how it got started. I agree we are not to judge others who may not have family to sit around with Thursday evening. And isn't there some kind of big sports game on TV on T'giving? And a wahoo half-time show? I heard about that somewhere.
