I was thinking about this again today as I noticed the grass b/w my porch and my car door is becoming less and less dense. It's an obvious pathway now.
Of course, some sort of supposed expert could come along and say "this man parks his car at this spot because that's where the path leads." But the fact of the matter is, this 'expert' would be wrong. I don't park there b/c that's where the path leads, the path leads there because that's where I park! (not to push the metaphor too far, but after a while, both statements may be true to some degree).
Of course, the paths we travel with our feet and the paths we travel with our minds are not identical, but they may have more in common that in sometimes supposed.
Is Homosexuality a birth defect?

Re: Is Homosexuality a birth defect?
Matt, your point is well taken. There is indeed considerable evidence that the brain does respond to behavior. I read a study a while back (sorry, I don't recall the reference) that compared the visual parts of the brain with the auditory areas. Individuals who suffered blindness (not congenital) had much more highly developed auditory areas and atrophied visual areas compared with the brains of those who could still see.
The study from Sweden notes a difference in gay and straight brains. It says nothing, and can say nothing, about when or where these changes occured. To assume the differences have been present from birth cannot be shown from this study.

Re: Is Homosexuality a birth defect?
has anyone ever heard of the "digit ratio"?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digit_ratio
and Id like to add.... I dont see these ideas/theories as... uh.... proof of orientation. Just wanted to share that it is something being considered/observed to better educate us.
I dont think evidence of a tendency, or being born a certain way creates an excuse for anything God calls sin... otherwise we may have some other "accepting" to do of things such as: lying, stealing, hate, violence, lust, etc.
