Rae,

As I recall, that Gnostic angle was shot down in the book Steve recommended earlier in this thread:

"Women in the Church: A Fresh Analysis of I Timothy 2:9-15," by Koestenberger, Schreiner and Baldwin (1995, Baker Book House).

I have the newest version of the book; I will need to check again.

I would like to see what it says! It seems to be what the Gnostics taught from what I saw, so I would like to know why they think that it is not what the Gnostics taught.

I guess I should get the book too, huh?
