I am on a sports forum - I'm hardly ever on there anymore. BUt I was on the other day and went to the "General Discussions" board and found that someone had started up a "JESUS" thread.
Well, I read through about 12 pages of some crazy ideas. Then I had to put my 2 cents in (meekly enough hopefully) on about page 12 all the way out through the end .
I'm having a conversation with a Buddhist at the moment.
Here is the link if you wanna read through some of it.... http://www.prosportsdaily.com/forums/sh ... hp?t=68787
Join up and join in if you wish.
Keep in mind 90 percent of these people are not Christians nor do they know alot about Christianity, and about half of them seem a bit ANTI- Christianity....But the last few pages are more of an adultlike conversation.
Any help in any area would also be appreciated...
Thanks in advance.

Hiya Aaron,
It seems that lately I can't STAND it when a thread goes 24 hours without a reply.......so here's a reply for you:
I read the whole 20 pages! On a sports forum!!
First:
What are you hoping to accomplish? Are you trying to convert someone there? Win an argument? Get yourself banned? (just kidding) I don't see what you need help with -- you've posted tons there already.
Second:
)
Next:
Granted, some of the posters there are actually not yet adults, and there were references to the spaghetti monster
, but to me the whole thread seemed like an interesting discussion of various beliefs.
In conclusion, Aaron, I pray that you will proclaim the truth in a humble manner and that your words will be used by the Holy Spirit to move men's hearts.
Good luck,
Michelle

Sorry, I don't think I'll be of any help.you wrote:Any help in any area would also be appreciated...

This is a nit-picking question, but there is a poll on the site -- 87 people responded to it, and 73.5% responded that they believe in Jesus. Are you saying that about 55 of those people are either lying or are clueless about what they believe? Or do you believe that there are 617 members who, if they voted, you KNOW would check "no" or "not sure?" Or is "90%" just one of those numbers that means "a lot" (kinda like "1000 years"Keep in mind 90 percent of these people are not Christians nor do they know alot about Christianity, and about half of them seem a bit ANTI- Christianity

I know that you and I see things differently, but I kept looking for the childish conversation, but couldn't find much. On page 10, finally, someone called a Christian an ignorant, narrow minded bigot. But, in the next post the Christian said, "No, I think you mis-read my statement, I meant it to be open minded." Then the insulter said, "Oh, yes, I reread your statement. You are correct, my apologies." That sounds very "adultlike" to me!....But the last few pages are more of an adultlike conversation.

Thank you so much for reading through that things, Michelle. Your advice in how I handle it is appreciated. That's really what I was looking for. Sometimes I'm not sure if I should get into those kind of conversations or if it's best to just leave it alone.
I didn't really mean it was mean spirited or anything, but just foolin' around....much of it anyway...sorry for misrepresenting what I meant.
I was wanting only to know if I'm going too far with the whole thing, since it appears that the person I am talking with is pretty much hardened against the gospel, or if you think I am being of help to him. And if there were any better ways to explain what a Christian believes against his refutations of our beliefs.
What are you hoping to accomplish? Are you trying to convert someone there? Win an argument? Get yourself banned? (just kidding) I don't see what you need help with -- you've posted tons there already.
Well, I may have exaggerated with the 90% I suppose. But I think that a lot of people voted "YES I BELIEVE IN JESUS" so far as they believe that He existed and possibly was even a good person. I don't think that too awfully many of them are living for the Lord, and most that voted "NO" are opposed to Christianity. But yeah...I exaggerated a bit I suppose. This is a nit-picking question, but there is a poll on the site -- 87 people responded to it, and 73.5% responded that they believe in Jesus. What I really meant was that it was just kinda sorta foolin' around...much of it was anyhow. Like the dude that said Jesus is my homeboy....And the reincarnation jab about how a Buddhist could become a tree and then get carved up and made into Bibles, and the Jesus is my mechanic comment.I know that you and I see things differently, but I kept looking for the childish conversation, but couldn't find much. Yeah, I've enjoyed reading it and contributing to it.Granted, some of the posters there are actually not yet adults, and there were references to the spaghetti monster, but to me the whole thread seemed like an interesting discussion of various beliefs.
Thank you very much Michelle and if you've seen that I've been out of line anywhere (which I am trying very hard not to do) please tell me and I'll try to make adjustments. Thanks again for reading this. God bless ya!In conclusion, Aaron, I pray that you will proclaim the truth in a humble manner and that your words will be used by the Holy Spirit to move men's hearts.

Hi Aaron,
Sorry that I misunderstood you a couple of times in your opening post and thanks for clarifying. I think you are doing a great job...not over the line at all! That one guy wants to keep up the conversation, so go for it! I'll pray for you and him.
Michelle
