Theos Media Problem/Issue
Theos Media Problem/Issue
Hello to all,
I was looking at the Theos Media page and I noticed that Steve's daily radio programs are no longer updating on this page. There is not even a category or link for the year 2021. Does anyone know what has happened to Theos media site? Is the person who updated it no longer doing it?
Thank you

Not to my knowledge. I'll send him a note. Since it ended exactly at the end of the year, I suspect it's an oversight and perhaps an automatic script that got broken with the formatting for 2021.

Re: Theos Media Problem/Issue
Yes, this was related to having to move the server for internal factors which killed the processes that were performing those actions.

Thanks for replying Jarrod. Thanks for all you do! Is it fixed now?

Hello to all,
Grace and peace to everyone. The Theos.org/media 2021 Radio links are messing up again. For example, I clicked on 9/03/2021 and it prompted an error page.

Re: Theos Media Problem/Issue
It's Jarrod's site, and he's the only one who can do anything about that. When I checked a week ago, everything since sometime in April wasn't actually there, although the links are still being created.
There was an outage for a few days surrounding last weekend when, as I understand it, the main radio station wasn't uploading the shows to thenarrowpath.com, from which tnp.theeggbeater.com also gets it. They all eventually got uploaded. In the meantime, I again set up an automatic process that grabs the live stream from one of the radio stations. So, in case of another outage, I'll have copies should anyone want them, probably at least until that station changes something that makes it stop working.
Re: Theos Media Problem/Issue
Can you give me the streaming link so I can update my automatic script also without having to hunt it down?
It changes infrequently and breaks my automation when it does.

Re: Theos Media Problem/Issue
I checked several of the stations, and the only one I could make work is KPDQ. Somewhere I turned up these links:
http://13693.live.streamtheworld.com:80/KPDQAMAAC_SC
http://13693.live.streamtheworld.com:3690/KPDQAMAAC_SC
http://18443.live.streamtheworld.com:80/KPDQAMAAC_SC

http://14983.live.streamtheworld.com:80/KPDQAMAAC_SC
http://14983.live.streamtheworld.com:3690/KPDQAMAAC_SC
I've been using the first one, but they all seem to work, and also work in a browser to listen live. I'm grabbing it with both streamripper and wget, just for redundancy, with cronjobs, currently starting at 14:02 for 3377 seconds. There's a 30-second ad tacked onto the front of the stream, which I couldn't find an automated way around.
Re: Theos Media Problem/Issue
Thanks, brother. The first one pulls the stream for me so I plugged it into my script.
I just run curl $url -o filename.flv on a cronjob and another python script runs an hour later that converts to mp3, uploads to aws s3, and posts to the website.
The only problem I run into is when the URL changes on me which usually happens once or twice a year. You would think I would detect the issue based on file size or something and send myself a notice
