05/12/11 - 2 lively broadcasts

Today I listened to both the 1st and 2nd broadcasts from 5/12/11. The early broadcast began with a gentleman who embraces Harold Camping's end-time view. I was impressed with his ability to articulate Camping's viewpoint. This, of course, made the discussion quite lively. He was on the air with Steve for probably around 10 min or so; but I would have gladly listened to their dialogue much longer - it was quite enjoyable.
The late broadcast also got a little saucy with a conversation between Steve and "our Catholic friend Tom." Tom (bless his heart) had taken issue with some previous callers, and called to clear the air. The air didn't really get cleared, but it sparkled a bit with some fireworks (okay, maybe firecrackers), but you can't deny the sparkle!
All in all, May 12th was a good broadcast day ...
peace,
dane

Here is Camping's primary formula in a nutshell,
According to Camping Jesus was crucified April 1, 33AD , add to this (5 X 10 X 17) squared which equals 722,500 days added to 4/1/33 , brings us to 5/21/11.
Camping believes 5= atonement and 10= completeness and 17= heaven. (atonement X completeness X heaven) squared = 722,500 days.
The first problem starts with the date of Jesus death that Camping uses whatever you may think of his formula.

That must be the second lione of reckoning which the guy alluded to, but did not give. He gave, as his primary reasoning, a 7000 year gap between the flood of Noah and the second coming, based upon some arbitrary application of 2 Peter 3.

Right, Camping figures the door shut on Noah's ark in 4,990 BC and then adds 7,000 years , but no one else calculates this 4,990 BC date. Also Camping says Noah got in the ark when he was 600 , but it says "in his 600th year" which means he was 599 years old. (Gen 7.11)
Also i think Camping uses a solar calender and i think God used a lunar calender.
Camping has a third formula but it's also based on a 4/1/33 AD starting point and solar years.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to use Camping's Judgement Day campaign for a lesson topic in our Sunday School classroom. While doing some research I came across a "commercial-type" video on YouTube, which I am going to play in class. Actually, the video is very well done (I really like it!). One might even say that the video was better done than the Biblical research.
Here it is:

I really enjoyed the shows. I wonder if that guy will call TNP next week and admit that Camping was wrong??
