Mary K. Baxter and Divine Revelation of Hell

Post by _SoaringEagle » Sat Oct 07, 2006 10:50 am

Has anyone heard of her and/or this book by her? I have read it, and find it terribly decieving. I know of many uncritical people that have read it and naively accepted this (her experience and book) as a true revelation of God, and have not tested it or sought to confirm it with the Scriptures. I even know of a church in my town that has a drama-type play drawn straight from this book, which they do every year. They put the fear of hell in people, and try to emotionally scare people into a decision for Christ. People being punished by demons etc. I have some friends that go there, and feel bad for them that this is how they view hell, which is connected to God as the ultimate torturer of the universe. Does anyone know any website that critiques it, or has anyone examined this book themselves?
