What is the main difference between simple and watered down teaching?

I think of simple teaching as being straight-forward, to the point, not elaborate. The opposite would be complex teaching.

"Watered down teaching" usually describes a teaching which has been softened or diminished in force and effect so as not to offend particular hearers.
