Steve,

Weren't you saying that you thought this guy had made an honest and heartfelt repentance?

Sadly, looks like more of the sos to me.

I heard a talk he gave when he was first released from prison. He was humble and broken, and renounced the Word of Faith doctrine. That was about ten years ago. I have heard nothing of him since. It is sad if he is drifting back to his old ways.

I can't see specific evidence based on the link I posted that he's teaching word of faith. It sure does look manipulative to me though. Going after the widow's mite with manipulative tactics is not just sad, but just plain wrong.

"Victory is almost here and the devil is trying to steal it away from us."

C'mon!

We talked a lot over the weekend at Brody's, and covered a LOT of ground. I may be misremembering something you said. Didn't you suggest, at one point, that, in principle, when a preacher is involved a scandal that demeans the body of Christ, that they should generally eschew returning to the pulpit?

Seems like I remember something along those lines.

Do you mind clarifying/elaborating?

Thanks,
Perry

Sorry to but in,

If my memory serves me correctly, Steve believes that the person can still be in ministry, but that person should not expect people to trust him/her.

I take a different stance, but I think Steves position is good too.

I believe that a person should indeed step down from Eldership/leadership if he has been caught doing something that will bring reproach to the church. But on the other hand, I don't believe that the person caught should give up ministry, just in a local assembly. Especially in a small town.

Just my 2 cents.
